Logan Compact Elite Mat Cutter 350-1 Review

by admin on April 8, 2012

A great mat cutter to get started with as a hobby picture framer.

The Logan Compact 350 is the re-birthed model from the Logan Compact Range. Previously at this size you had the Logan 301 and 301-s. These were good basic cutters but the machine has now been enhanced with the addition of a short squaring arm.

Watch the Video review below and let us know what you think.

One thing we think is great is the open ends of the cutting rail. With many pro cutters the size of the cutter is the size of board you can cut but this is not so with the compact range. Even though the cutter rail is 32″ or 820mm you can easily cut larger windows by shunting the mat board along in the cutter. See our video below to explain this trick.

For artists working on paper this would be an idea entry level cutter to get professional looking mats at home.

You should consider the bigger brother, the Logan Graphics 450-1 40″ Artist Elite Mat Cutter, Straight or Bevel Cuts also as it has a greater capacity if you are cutting large mats often.
